Alice Nine

Alice nine is a Japanese rock band (Visual Kei) formed in 2004. Alice Nine's musical style can mainly be described as rock, differentiating between heavier songs and a more mainstream approach. In the past their music had a heavier sound as opposed to the sound of their new album, which contains a variation of lighter instruments and synthesizers. Like some other Visual Kei bands, as they progressed through the years, the band experimented and released songs that focus more on the mainstream public, and with that their music could potentially be classified as pop rock since the release of their album Zekkeishoku. Their first concert was held at the Ikebukuro Cyber on May 11, 2004. In 2005, Alice Nine released their first single "Kasou Mushou Shi". The group's single "Tsubasa" recently peaked at number six on the Oricon charts, making it one of their most successful singles to date . The new single "Mirror Ball" will be released on March 26, 2008

D'espairsRay

D'espairsRay is a Japanese rock band formed in 1999, They have a rather dark appearance which is often mistaken by non-visuals with goth. It can be said that D'espairsRay was always, even at the beginning, quite over the average visual kei indie band. Their music could have been considered as heavy rock, and more often as industrial goth rock. The lineup has since remained the same and as of February 2008, the group has released several singles and EPs, as well as a two full-length records. They started out as part of the indies visual kei movement, and released their first demotape, [ao] in December of that year. In 2008, D'espairsRay will be participating in the Taste of Chaos 2008 tour, along with fellow-visual band Mucc. Currently signed to Firewall Div, a sub-division of Free-Will. As of 2008, they have released six full-length records and while the group's lineup has remained consistent since its inception, numerous stylistic changes have made its music's genre difficult to determine (though it is generally considered to be a form of rock music). Originally part of Japan's visual kei movement, the band has opted for less flamboyant attire in recent years. Dir en Grey is also known as Diru. Very typical for Diru is the voice of 'kyo'.

Rest in Peace: Hideto Matsumoto (December 13, 1964 – May 2, 1998), he was a Very popular Japanese musician. Primarily known for his work as lead guitarist of the popular heavy metal band X Japan from 1987 to 1997. He was also a successful solo artist and he discovered and raised bands like Zilch. He was first exposed to rock and roll music at the age of fifteen, in the same year his grandmother bought him his first electric guitar, a Gibson Les Paul Deluxe. he concentrated on guitar playing in 1981 and formed the independent band Saver Tiger. Hide joined X Japan (then called X) in 1987. He became the band's lead guitarist and occasional songwriter, composing songs like "Celebration", "Joker" and the single "Scars". Shortly after the release of the album Art of Life, the members of X Japan took a break, to start solo projects. Around that time, the group also dropped most of its original visual kei aesthetics, the exception being Matsumoto, who would still perform in wildly colorful outfits and with his trademark pink hair. He composed many beautifull songs and played in different movies in 1993–1998, I would love to tell all about it, but you better read it all at : "hide's story". Hideto Matsumoto died on May 2, 1998. After a night out drinking, he was found hanged with a towel tied to a doorknob in his Tokyo apartment. Three fans died in copycat suicides, of the 50,000 people who attended his funeral, nearly 60 were hospitalized and about 200 received medical treatment in first aid tents. Later that month, the single "Pink Spider" was released, entering the Oricon charts at number one. Suicide? No, probably not, just the worst day ever...(pain-reliefing technique)

They played live in june 2000, under the new name Kagrra, for the first time and released a new demotape. After joining the label Key Party, they formed a sort of twin-band-duet with Lar~mia, and the two bands were often referred to as the kuroi tori (black bird: CROW) and shiroi tori (white bird: Lar~mia). L'Arc-en-Ciel

I am still doubting if I should consider them as a Jrock band, try to convince me. L'Arc-en-Ciel (raruku an shieru, "the arc in the sky" or "the rainbow" in French) is a popular Japanese rock band, formed in 1991. The group has sold over 15 million albums and 30 million singles In February of 1991, bassist Tetsu, later band leader, recruited vocalist Hyde along with guitarist Hiro and drummer Pero, and formed a band under the name of L'Arc-en-Ciel. After a year Hiro left the band on June 12, 1992. Pero soon followed on December 30 of the same year, supposedly to join up with his friend Hiro again. To replace the two, Tetsu convinced his friend Ken Kitamura to quit his university studies and join the band as the guitarist. Yasunori Sakurazawa was recruited after Tetsu saw him perform in a few shows. On April 1, 1993, the band released their debut album Dune under the indie label Danger Crue. Moi dix Mois

Moi dix Mois is a Japanese musical project founded by Malice Mizer's front, Mana. As part of the visual kei movement it is marked by Mana's selection of guest performers rather than a typical band structure, and exhibits a combination of classical elements of gothic rock and gothic metal. Apart from playing guitar, Mana composes all of Moi dix Mois' music and lyrics, arranges, produces, and designs the stage costumes and acts as overall artistic director. In contrast to Mana's previous bands, Moi dix Mois is explicitly billed as Mana's solo project; while the project members have input during the performance and recording of the music, Mana essentially determines the band's artistic direction on his own. Their first single, "Dialogue Symphonie", was released October 19 2002, Moi dix Mois played their first concerts outside Japan in March 2005.
